tum tum's Images

Washington, USA
Description: tum tum is a large expanse of granite boulders and outcroppings past the little town of tum tum on highway 261 (west of spokane). the potential stretches for miles with a number of different areas. there are established problems above the indian painted rocks (5.8 - 6.0 miles past the town of tum tum). most stuff at this area is in the V8 - V12 range, with a few moderates. a mile or two before the indian painted rocks is a section of land that burned not too many years ago. the granite here is generally bleached white and solid. a few moderates and lots of potential exists here.   History: climbing has gone on for decades, mainly on rope. bouldering development (esp. hard stuff) has been more recent.
Camping: there are some campgrounds in the area along the spokane river and various tracts of public land on gravel roads. take your pick. it is a scenic and laid back area... which is par for the course when 30 minutes any direction from spokane.
